SBCAST is designed to support events of all types. SBCAST artists are involved in First Thursday art exhibitions and, periodically, in small group and solo showings. SBCAST’s infrastructure supports performance, music and visual exhibitions. Resources are available for multi-media presentation. The SBCAST Courtyard Quadrangle has an embedded DMX, full color spectrum, lighting system and multi-channel sound system. Larger events are held in the SBCAST Courtyard Quadrangle and are bracketed by two inside Exhibition Studios at the east side and the Workshop at the west side.
The Courtyard Quadrangle measures 95′ x 60′ (5700 square feet) and can be made fully-private with two controllable, independent, entrances/exits. Rooftop Garden Patios, walkways and perches frame the east and south sides of the Courtyard. Two unisex restrooms are accesible on the south side of Quadrangle. Courtyard capacity is subject to event type and is limited to 300 people maximum. Events can be held daytime, afternoon and evening. Events can extend to 10pm.
A variety of supporting resources are available for events. Resources include performer stages (4′ deep x 8′ wide x 16″ high), adjustable height tables (2′ x 4′) with black fabric stretch covers, aerial performance rigging points, public address system, HD projectors, DMX lighting, high fidelity sound system (microphones, mixers, powered speakers), podium, outside seating and bistro tables. SBCAST also supports a large (260” x 146”) exterior projection screen of 16 x 9 aspect ratio.
Two interior Exhibition/Classroom/Community Room spaces and the Workshop may be available for inclusion in Courtyard activities. These spaces can be used to create more private working/social areas or opened fully, for refreshment service, exhibition or performance.
