Join us at SBCAST, Suite E (in conjunction with The Shaft: Dream Disaster) on Sunday, January 22, 2:00 p.m. for a free presentation by Dr. Zion Klos and Lucy Holtsnider who will talk about their Climate Odyssey project. The talk is 45 minutes with a 15 minute audience Q & A.
In 2015, the pair sailed over 3,000 miles past 13 states in a 34’ wooden catamaran Wildcat to document climate change impacts and adaptations along the East Coast of the United States. With the goal of creating resources that communicate climate change science in a visual and relatable way, they spoke with non-profits, land managers, and fishermen along their route about changes they were observing and adapting to in their local areas. Holtsnider created an edition of 10 artists’ books and an interactive map from stories and images gathered during this Climate Odyssey.
