A Month of Art Showcases – “She was Real” by Lindsey Appleyard

Santa Barbara Center for Art, Science, and Technology (SBCAST) Artist in Residents’ Meighann A. Helene, Maria Constanza Ferreira and Lindsey Appleyard will hold three consecutive weekends in this series of showcases of installation art, performance, design and more.

Lindsey Appleyard’s series, “She was Real”, is a tribute to her mother, Jane Ellen Martini-Vvedensky. The show speaks to the body vs the spirit, encompassing questions about what death is, and what does it mean to be living. You will see pieces incorporating stained glass, metal work, photography, video manipulation and more from this life-long craftswoman.

These family-friendly and hands-on events will be held at SBCAST at 513 Garden Street, Santa Barbara, CA, 93101. We kindly ask everyone be vaccinated or wear a mask to keep our community safe.
