Rising to Life, is a creative exhibition by artist Sunny Samuel. He creates work about the relationship between landscape and organism. He is an artist & teacher with a MFA from UCSB. Currently he splits his time between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, teaching in the Art Department of the College of Creative Studies at UCSB. The exhibition opens on Thursday, November 1st 5-8, in Studio D.

Biergnette: Light, Life, & Death is a single-night exhibition curated by SCBAST resident Zachary Rosen, Cert. Cicerone®, featuring mixed media sculptures, written word installations, and dance performances paired with beer and food. These curated spaces are spread throughout the entire SBCAST property, utilizing the existing architecture and design of the building and its surrounding spaces. Inspired by the wave-particle duality of light and quantum physics, Light, Life & Death tells a story about the harmonious, and necessary, existence of binary forces while considering the balance of life and death as the transference of mass and energy, rather than a beginning and an end.
