Living Studios and Working Studios are generally leased at below-average-market rental rates for Santa Barbara, CA. In addition, all utilities (except for enhanced bandwidth telecommunications) are provided at no additional expense to the resident.
SBCAST Rentals Pricing
Living Studios (7 units)
$1850 – $2100 per month
The Living Studios are typically served by 18 month, fixed term, leases. Electricity, heating, water, recycling, trash and sewer utilities are provided at no additional expense. Electricity is provided by SBCAST rooftop photovoltaic panels. Studio heating and hot water are served by a solar thermal water circulation system. Community WiFi is provided, however residents are responsible for enhancing their own telecommunications bandwidth (cable, fiber or wireless options) by contracting directly with service provider.
Working Studios (4 units)
$1200 per month
The Working Studios are typically served by 12-18 month, fixed term, leases. Electricity, heating, water, recycling, trash and sewer utilities are provided at no additional expense. Electricity is provided by SBCAST rooftop photovoltaic panels. Studio heating and hot water are served by a solar thermal water circulation system. Community WiFi is provided, however residents are responsible for enhancing their own telecommunications bandwidth (cable, fiber or wireless options) by contracting directly with service provider.

Guest Living Studios (2 units)

The Guest Living Studios are subject to calendar-based availability. Residencies are fixed term, typically ranging from one to three months, although longer terms are possible. All utilities, including wifi, are provided for Guest Living Studios residents.
Courtyard
$500 (non-profit)
The SBCAST Courtyard is subject to calendar-based availability. Minimum event charge is $500 (non-profit) / per 24 hour period max, charges inclusive of timing required for build and strike. For usage beyond 24 hours, contact SBCAST for details. All utilities, including wifi, are provided by SBCAST. Event host is required to provide for security and event-focused recycling/trash services.
Aerial Rigging Points
Aerial Rigging Points are subject to calendar-based availability and are available as as option for Courtyard rental. A 14-foot “A” frame ladder is available to access the Aerial Rigging Points.
Parking
One leased parking spot is available for each Living Studio, assuming it’s requested. If requested, this personal parking spot is leased at $100 per month. Automobiles may not be left in the SBCAST Courtyard, overnight, unless they have a dashboard-displayed reserved parking pass. However, any two-wheeled vehicles, such as motorcycles, scooters, electric bicycles and bicycles may be parked at SBCAST daily and overnight. For events, the Courtyard is typically cleared of all vehicles, including automobiles and two wheeled vehicles, whether or not they have a reserved parking pass.
